Where it sits

Warmer than warm white.

Most "warm white" stops at 2,700–3,000 K, and tri-colour downlights jump between three fixed settings. Light Alchemist moves continuously across the whole range, with warmth and brightness set separately.

Where it shines

The rooms where evenings happen.

Choose the upgrade for the rooms where you unwind, and keep standard tunable white where you cook, work and get ready.

Our honest advice

Every Maxsen tunable light already spans 2,700–6,000 K, which suits kitchens, bathrooms and studies beautifully. The 1,800 K upgrade is where evenings happen: living rooms, dining areas and bedrooms.

Choose it for the rooms where you unwind, and you will feel the difference every night. Decide during the planning visit, because it affects the fittings we specify.

Is 1,800 K too dim or too orange?

Colour temperature isn't brightness. 1,800 K can be bright or dim; it simply looks warmer. Most clients use it for evening scenes rather than all day, and keep crisper light for the morning.

Can I upgrade only some rooms?

Yes. Most clients upgrade living and bedroom spaces and keep standard tunable white elsewhere.

How is this different from tri-colour or dim-to-warm?

Tri-colour switches between three fixed settings, usually 3,000, 4,000 and 6,000 K. Dim-to-warm gets warmer only as it dims 2. Light Alchemist moves continuously from 1,800 to 6,000 K, with warmth and brightness set separately.

How do I control it?

From the same Maxsen switches and scenes as the rest of your lighting, so an "Evening" key can take the room to candlelight in one press.
